- Description
-
Pottery: red-figured kylix.
Interior: A draped ephebos in fillet to left, holding upright in right a thyrsos. On each side an object very roughly drawn, part seen: that on left seems to be part of a square base, that on right a loutron.
Exterior: (a) A nude ephebos on left moves forward to receive a lighted torch, such as was used in the torch-race, from a draped ephebos: both wear fillet.
(b) Similar group: here the one on left holds up a large discos (?); the draped one holds upright in his right a palm branch.
Late coarse style. Purple (or white?) fillets. Around the interior scene, a band of roughly-drawn maeanders separated by dotted cross squares. Beneath and beside handles, three palmettes.
