Description
Pottery: black-glazed bucket (bell-situla) Along the top are imitation handles, between the ends of which are lions' heads in relief with palmettes above. Below runs a pattern of stars and leaves painted in red and white. Under each lion's head is a relief of Nike driving a quadriga at full speed to left; she has hair gathered in a knot and long girt chiton; on one relief is Ares (Maris, Laran) by her side as parabates, with helmet; on the other, Athene (Menerva), with helmet, shield, and long girt chiton. The form imitates metallic prototypes.
