- Description
-
Mould-made pottery lamp with a voluted nozzle, broken at the end. The deep-sunk discus has a flat moulded rim, and a channel from the discus to the wick-hole. The centre of the discus is edged by concentric mouldings; between these and the rim is a wreath of ivy-leaves. In the channel between the discus and the wick-hole is a fluted flask with a narrow ribbed neck and a conical stopper. The lamp stands on a base-ring. Traces of a streaky orange-brown slip remain.
