Bronze group: Herakles at the tree of the Hesperides, holding three of the golden apples in his left hand. Behind him is the apple tree with the guardian serpent clinging around it. The tree and base are probably modern additions. The figure might originally have been a portrait of a Hellenistic king in the guise of Herakles. His realistic facial features and thick sideburns are characteristics of royal images.
