Women's mat or garment, of a high-ranking type. A longitudinally-running seam, it is dyed purple and deep pink, with a stencilled design of two longitudinally-running undyed rectangular spirals. At both short ends there are two panels of stencilled diamonds set in a diamond-shaped grid. Bunches of fringe, dyed yellow, at a few points along the short ends and running up the sides up to the end of the diamond panels. Along each side the ends of the plaited strips have been cut off to leave a short fringe of purple-dyed ends.
