Decorated barkcloth, rectangular, ecru background, stencilled motifs in black with some brown. Design consists of central rectangle of five diagonal bands, middle one of repeated reversed v, two outer ones same on each side and same triangular design in two corners; at bottom band of six black "double cross" motifs. On each side of central rectangle same decoration arranged in three bands separated by three black lines: ecru croix patee/flowers on brown background, alternating four black triangles and cross-and-wavy lines, and repeated ecru motif on black background. Two edges decorated with four groups of nine short black lines.

- According to the vendor, the piece has been in the family for a very long time and could have been collected on the voyage of HMS Herald, 1854-6, Captain H.M. Denham (same family).
