- From a series of 284 photos made by an un-named photographer on a tour of the Melanesian Mission ship Southern Cross in 1947. Described in the original catalogue as: 253. Inhabitants of the village of Sere in front of a typical dwelling on Mere Lava Island

- Printed in 1992 by the British Museum from a series of negatives belonging to the Melanesian Mission, in the course of the donation of collection Oc1991,08. The Mission then donated the negatives to the Melanesian Mission archive at SOAS.
