Register 1980:
A and B wood carved lintel, with plain wood back, in two parts. Two male figures top are with shell eyes (one missing). Two hornbills at the top, are below the moon face in the middle. Mainly red, yellow faces with black and white patterning with traces of yellow. Smaller faces decorate the sides of the figures.
STAPIKUM 1, village WOSERA, sub-district MAPRIK, district EAST-SEPIK, province PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
Collection made between 5 August and 7 September 1980 in the village of Sarikim, Wosera Sub-district, Maprik District, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea, by the British Museum staff (Dorota C. Starzecka with the assistance of John D Lee, Conservation Dept), consisting mainly of the contents of the ceremonial house in Sarikim, with some additional objects from Sarikim and other neighbouring villages.
