Man's apron collected by vendor in 1963.
".... men make string for their aprons by peeling off the bark from a particular shrub and rubbing the fibres of it on their thigh into twine .... Once the weaving of such small pieces is completed, the reeds are pulled out and the pieces are sewn together." From vendor's letter of 19.6.78. Slides in photographic archives.
