Men's stone nose ornament made of an approximately triangular piece of white shell, pierced with two holes. A short length of plant stem is passed through the holes so that the ends project on the same (convex) side.

From BLEMTALEVIP, obtained from the ATBALMIN. Worn by men with the ends of the stems inserted in two holes in the tip of the nose.

[Oc1964.03 series]: An ethnographical collection formed between December 1963 and May 1964 in the Telefomin sub-district of the Sepik District Territory of New Guinea, by the British Museum Expedition (B.A.L. Cranstone, Assistant Keeper, and D.J. Lee, Museum Assistant); with a few pieces collected in and near Wewak headquarters of the Sepik District. (See also 1964 AS.4).
