Collected from the Mimika River region, Southern Netherlands, New Guinea. Collected by the late A.F.R Wollaston on the Ornithological Expedition, 1910 (cf. series 1912.0611, 1922.10-18).
Coast Papuans.
The stone head is not being held by plaited bindings around the shaft above it. It is possible the head may have come off in the past and has been replaced on the wrong shaft.
