'Poi-Pounder [as above] of modern manufacture, showing marks of lathe. (1909.) Marquesas Ids.'
The dates listed in the BM register indicate when Grüning acquired each object - the entry for this object suggests he obtained it in 1909, most likely while living in the Pacific, if not directly from the Marquesas. For example, Oc1915,1008.34 is noted to have been obtained in Tahiti, but made in the Marquesas (no date provided). NM 2011.
