Model outrigged canoe of soft pale wood the hull coloured black, the gunwale and bows white with conventional ornament; fish &c in red and black. Vertical projecting ornaments both at bows and stern hung with cowrie shells, at the outer corners of the deck 2 figures of birds. The deck is made of reeds.
Bought off Samara Island, 1889.'
