Model war canoe, waka taua, of wood outside stained black. Slightly upturned prow, takarangi spirals, rauponga on body continuous with hull. Side-strakes and upper hull carved, with unusual varieties of pakura, haliotis-shell inlay mostly missing. Three taumanu carved with diagonal rauponga. Openwork carved stern with two ribs and takarangi spirals.
