Registration slip description, written in 1890?:
Cap. The foundation is of plaited cocoa nut fibre & is of conical form. The front is covered with crimson feathers, laid flat & arranged in sprays & among them are placed large white cowries. At the top an erection of black feathers; the whole upon a foundation of slender bars. At the back an ample wig of black hairs, above which is a band of crimson & yellow feathers fastened on to a spathe of the palm.
