From Haddon's diary in September 1988 (see Herle & Philp) re likely collection of this and another necklace: 'I took a couple of photos at Badu and bought a few curios - for the first time I got the nose skewers, and some dog-tooth necklaces from New Guinea, and a wooden imitation of the stone clubs'.
