"Tortoiseshell fish hooks, Torres St."
The end of the hook is so close to the shank that it would not catch in the fish's throat. I was not aware they had been labelled fish hooks. They came from islands north of Mulgrave Is. My own natives at Cape York did not know their use. The tortoiseshell fish hooks (2) are on one of the fishing lines.'
