- Christy collection registration slip, written in 1877?:
Comb, worn by men in their long hair. It has a short wooden handle overlaid with twine and reddish gum, below which is a flat triangular piece similarly treated and decorated with engraved lines. From this proceed the teeth, 12 in number, formed apparently of long thorns.
