Basket, kete whakairo, plaited from strips of flax leaf 2 mm wide, twilled, dextrals dyed black and reversed, sinistrals undyed, producing pattern of vertical and horizontal 2/2 twill; fine join at the bottom; three-strand braid finish inside rim carrying three loops of braided-flax fibre on each side.
