Cast; human head approximately half life-size from a figure, made of plaster. Broken off below neck. Face is striated, long hooked nose, small almond-shaped eyes, very full upper lip. Ears crudely modelled. Wears two-tier cap or headdress with vertical rows of small beads separated by hozontal lines of long tubular beads. Flat top with central circle of beads. Cap shaped around ears. Major chip from right proper side of forehead. Slight damage to nose and lips. Cap also damaged in places especially at front edge. Painted mid brown to match original terracotta head.

The original terracotta head was found near St Stephen's Church in Modakeke, Ife.

The original head was in the collection of the National Musuem Ife, Nigeria. Orignally numbered 31; re-numbered IF 53.1.20. It was stolen from the National Museum Ife.
