- The pages are numbered in pencil starting at page 2 and ending at page 16. Only the front of pages are numbered, at the end of the description, I have given the page number as verso or recto. The following pages are blank: pages 1 verso and recto, page 7 verso and page 8 verso.
Until 1996, the codex manuscript was bound with several other historical documents relating to Latin America.

- Early history of the manuscript is not well known. It was sold by Evans at Renouard’s sale of 1834, bought by Richards and sold by him to Lord Kingsborough. It was purchased by the bookseller Rodd at the Kingsborough sale of 1843, and sold the the British Museum on 11th March 1843 together with other books and manuscripts known as ‘Papeles varios de Indias XVIII, sec. vol. I, BM press CLIID’.
