- Curator's comments
- Collected with Grant Keddie 8/05/02 at a rescue site at Finlayson Point, Beacon Hill Park, Victoria. Site Dc Ru-23, a defensive fort dating to 1000-1350 AD. Excavations took place during the replacement of an asphalt path which uncovered a series of pits for cooking camass bulbs. There was also evidence of cooking clams. Amongst the debutage were fractured beach cobble pot boilers for use in baskets and pits. The park remains full of camass. See photos in library.
