Brooch carved of soapstone (?) in form of a woman with a child in her amauti, fishing through a hole in the ice; the fishing line is of white cotton thread. Letters "Q N" (the initials of the maker) engraved on the back. Brooch needle of metal, attached to the stone with glue.
