Saltillo sarape; tapestry-woven in two pieces on treadle loom. Cotton warp, wool weft. Central lozenge mainly red, with blue, yellow, green and white in concentric diamond shape. Field of vertical mosaic design uses similar coours. Border predominately red, with dotted pattern and zig-zag edging. Natural dyes used.

- Exhibition label notes is 'classic style' garment, and dyes used were likely to include cochineal. 'Saltillo' refers to the town famous for its textile market, and gives its name to the most complex of sarapes.
