- Curator's comments
- These objects were collected by the donor's mother-in-law. The donor provided the following information about her in a letter to J.C.King of February 13 1991. // 'Her maiden name was Winifred Calvert, born 1886 died 1978 - parents: English Mother, Scottish Father, Engineer, from Fifeshire. Family moved to Goteborg, Sweden in her early childhood. Married Alrick Myrin, Swedish Engineer 1903 approx. (two children) Travelled to N America, probably on business around 1906, visiting San Francisco just after the earthquake. I cannot find any information as to where else she travelled in the States or where she lived, but she seems to have made "friends" with some of the local Indians and was obviously interested in their handicrafts etc. She was later divorced and re-married to a Swedish doctor from Uppsala - Martin David Jacobsson - three children.'
