- Curator's comments
- Funeral procession referencing the Festival of San Isidro (patron saint of farmers), when oxen have traditionally pulled decorated carts through town as part of a procession. Pieces are assembled as follows: two oxen stand in front of cart; wire protruding from end of yoke fits into hole near front of cart; wire on side of opposite end of yoke fits into hole at centre base of semicircular decoration, which then rests on the back of the oxen; skeleton king rests on centre of cart and small skeletons sit around edge of cart with legs over edge. See "Metepec Y Su Arte en Barro." In: Artes de Mexico 1995:30 for similar pottery.
