- (additional information, 2024)
Am,07.1 to 18 (together with Af1971,13.1 to 14) were purchased from the dealer Alexander Martin, who had acquired them from the late Miss A Henderson, daughter of Vice Admiral William Hannam Henderson (1845-1931). Between 1872 to 1875 he served on the screw sloop Peterel on the Pacific Station, the only time in his career when he was in the north-east Pacific. He must therefore have collected the objects from the northwest Coast (Am1971,07.1 to 12) between 1872 and 1875.
Am1971,07.13 to 17 are recorded as having been collected in May 1935 by Miss Henderson, who must have visited America in that year.
