Feathers, with their bright iridescent colours, would have played an important role in ancient Colombian societies. European chronicles describe how they were woven, sometimes combined with basketry, and worn by high-status rulers and spiritual leaders. They are reminders of the rich array of materials and craftsmanship that has been lost with time.
