- Description

Jar with flaring spout, flat rim, small lug handles and flat base. Main design panel on each side features three concentric stepped diamonds in low relief relative to body; upper panels feature incised cross hatching. Strong vertical mould seams down sides of body and spout; handles also seem to be part of same mould-set - seams along underside. Smooth parts of body polished; spout wiped on exterior and interior; base burnished. Dark grey in colour; pale reddish patches towards base; remnants of white inlaid kaolin with 'cut-out' diamond outlines and down sides.
