- See Eth.Doc.1305. and also 1931 handlist "Specimens from the Blackmore Museum" (Ethnography Department documentation archive). See Edward T.Stevens "Flint Chips", London, 1870, p.497.
NB: Number "S.1298" is not annotated on p.497 of Ethno. Dept. copy of "Flint Chips", but 1931 handlist for 1298 gives description "ditto" to nos.1292 to 1296, which numbers ARE annotated in "Flint Chips" (as "S.2092" etc., in error, "calcined stone").
BM Ethnography Dept. registration mark "S" (within circle) used for 1931 Salisbury Museum collection.
Found stored in plastic sachets (created at unknown date by Ethnography Dept. staff), within a cotton bag marked with overall Register number "S.1298" and with "S.1298" on associated Ethno. Dept. tag. Originally recorded as "group of fragments"; part-letters (a to ad) allocated 6/2000 during project to create individual records.
