Painting in water based pigment on printed Italian military paper depicting Emperor Yohannis of Ethiopia riding a horse with ethiopian toe stirrup. Two figures accompany him, one to the left with his shield and flywhisk indicative of the Emperor's status and the other to the right carrying a gun.
Verso; A military procession with soldiers playing trumpets and five men on horseback playing large drums.
Framed with paper mount.

- Previously part of a book of images used as models for mural paintings. These were made by an Ethiopian priest who was producing paintings and murals in the 1940s.
