- The Tree of Life and its associated sculptures were made by Kester, Fiel dos Santos, Adelino Mate and Hilario Nhatugueja as part of a commission made by the British Museum.

- Af2005,01.1 to 10 are the ten different elements of the 'Tree of Life'. The sculpture was commissioned by the British Museum from the Transforming Arms into Tools (TAE) project in Mozambique in 2004.
