- Curator's comments
- This piece was created by the artist El Anatsui at his studio in Nsukka, Nigeria. It draws inspiration from the famous narrow-strip woven textiles of the Ewe and Asante people of Ghana, but also from the wider tradition of narrow strip-weaving throughout West Africa.
