Blanket; textile; hand woven cotton and synthetic fibres; composed of seven narrow strips machine sewn together selvedge to selvedge leaving a fringe of unworked warps. Plain weave; white machine spun cotton warps; dyed cream, turquoise, yellow, blue, burgundy and lilac cotton and synthetic fibre wefts. The majority of the decoration is in bands that are part of the ground weave. These bands are in a number of combinations of the following colours: cream, turquoise, yellow, blue burgundy, lilac. There are also three bands of supplementary weft: 1.Diamond based pattern in dyed blue and dyed black cotton; 2. Band of lilac, band of black with a central lilac panel containing dark blue geometric designs, band of lilac; 3. Diamond based pattern in dyed blue and dyed black cotton.

- Af2002,03.1 to 8 were purchased from Mrs Edna Jones, who had acquired them in Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 2001, and recorded that they were woven by Mende weavers. They were all recently made.
