Triple bowl made of pottery with central loop handle and three birds. Small lug on underside of one bowl, pierced for suspension. Upper surface of bowl is covered with white slip, inside of each bowl is painted with flower, further painted decoration in red and black on birds and bowls. Underside of bowls is painted brown except for the slightly flattened bases. Upper surface is painted with plant resin that has turned the white slip yellow. Beaks, eyes and breasts of birds have additional detail in black glossy paint.

- Curator's comments
- This collection was acquired by the donor while living in Algeria between 1969-1981. This bowl was hand-made by a female potter. The slip and painted decoration were derived from natural pigments. Plant resin was applied immediately after firing to seal the surface; it was then burnished.
