- Curator's comments
- This collection was acquired by the donor while living in Algeria between 1969-1981. This house-ornament was hand-made by a female potter. The slip and painted decoration were derived from natural pigments. Plant resin was applied to the ornament immediately after firing to seal the surface; it was then burnished.
