Woman's square head-shawl or chin-cloth ? made of wool and dyed dark green with tie-dyed decoration in the form of irregular circles in orange and yellow along the bottom edge of the cloth. Also at lower edge are several single lines of white cotton embroidery. Shawl has long tassels which are also tie-dyed. Top edge is heavily embroidered with multi-coloured silk thread in blue, pink, yellow, magenta, orange and green divided into two parts with central section left unembroidered. Within linear and undulating outlines are motifs such as the hand, fish, sun and crescent moon. One side (left proper) has sequins sewn to horizontal lines of embroidery. Edge of shawl is embroidered in similar colours and stitches but uses wool all along. Large wool pompoms in red, green, yellow, purple, orange and pink at each side along top edge with centrally placed gap.

- This fieldwork collection was purchased, together with Af1998,02-03, using BP (British Petroleum) sponsorship in February-March 1998. This coth was purchased from a shop called 'El-Dar' in Tunis medina on 14.3.98 for 180 TD (Tunisian Dinar).
