Woman's sleeveless waistcoat made of silk ? with tiny 'winged' shoulders, deep-cut straight armholes, straight front opening and rounded neckline. Armholes and back hem edged with yellow silk cord. Front hem, neck and opening edged with yellow cotton thread wrapped with gold thread in herringbone pattern. Broad band of goldwork around neck and along sides of front opening includes embroidery using gold-covered cotton thread, spirally-wound gold thread and gold sequins. Waistcoat has single internal pocket on left proper made of light blue silk cloth (same as lining) reinforced at bottom of pocket with pink silk ? cloth and along top edge with orange velvet cloth edged with yellow silk cord.

- This fieldwork collection was purchased, together with Af1998,02-03, using BP (British Petroleum) sponsorship in February-March 1998. Textiles (Af1998,01.17-54) were purchased from Ahmad Tahar Zribi, Sfax, on 25.2.1998 for 3,200 TD (Tunisian dinar).
