Rectangular hanging (bandera) made of black-dyed cotton denim decorated throughout with discharge-dyed 'calligrams' based on the form of Arabic letters.
The Tunisian artist, Nja Mahdaoui, made several similar hangings which were originally used as backdrops for cultural events.
