- Description
-
A woman's large, rectangular silk veil with a fringe of russet silk warps, plaited and tied, along the two shorter edges. The main body of the cloth is of a reddish purple colour which is achieved by weaving a blue weft into the russet warps. At each end there is a wide band of weft stripes in pink, green, gold, red and blue, divided by narrower, multicoloured bands of squares and rectangles. The whole cloth is covered with an intricate pattern of squares filled with concentric, stepped lines.
