Sculpture (early head) made of soapstone ?. Stylised head with exaggerated lips and nostrils. Heavily lidded downcast eyes. Narrow, elongated head, which leans slightly to the right following the natural shape of the stone. Vertically ridged beard ? carved below lips. Ridged band around top of head encircles roughly worked area at back of head which could be hair or cap ? At base of head are two 'C' shaped raised designs, roughly worked and placed back-to-back.

- Eth.Doc.153. Collection of the late Frank McEwen, first Director of the National Gallery of Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), from 1957-73. Nicholas Mukomberanwa was one of the early members of the Workshop School, established by Frank McEwen at the National Gallery.
