Black cylindrical wood milk vessel (a) with leather base and separate lid (b). Loop of coarse rope passes - on one side - through two, carved, raised, wood hoops around body of vessel and is knotted in leather base. On other side loop passes through one hoop only. Dirty, dark patination.
