A fragment of a sheet of European printed machine cotton, celebrating the Methodist centenary, with alternating busts of Thomas Birch Freeman and John Wesley in rope bordered ovals, set against a blue background with patterns of yellow climbing roses. Their names are printed in black capitals with the dates '1835' and '1935'. 'Regd Basel' is printed at top and bottom. The cloth has selvedges along top and bottom but has been cut roughly along the sides.

- Af1983,03.1 to 13 is recorded as having been "collected in Ghana by Miss Irene Masch, a Methodist missionary there for many years, who died in 1981." It was given by Miss M Dawson in early 1983, who was probably a friend and her executor. The group comprises the cloths that Miss Masch had made for her from locally purchased textiles, as well as printed cloths that relate to her activity as a Methodist missionary.
