- Description
-
Blanket (Dori blanket), composed of six wide strips, hand-woven from hand-spun cotton and wool, and hand-sewn together. At some point a length at one end has been cut off and later crudely sewn back; but the cloth appears to be complete. The warp is entirely of white cotton. The weft is decorated across the entire length by bands of wool dyed russet, dark brown and black with some narrow lines of white cotton. Four of these bands are themselves highly decorated with patterns in supplementary weft. The warp ends have been left as a fringe.
