- Description
-
Cloth, a rectangle woven from beige raffia palm fibre, hand-spun white cotton, and green and burgundy imported European cotton. The warp and weft are of raffia, with thin lines of white cotton running along the warp and dividing it into stripes as if it were strip-woven. This effect is accentuated by running short lines of supplementary weft in green and burgundy between the white lines, in the manner of Yoruba aso oke. The warp ends have been left as a fringe.
