Woman's skirt made of raffia plaited by the sprang technique, and tie-dyed in brown, red brown and yellow, leaving an overall crinkled texture; there is a substantial long fringe along the bottom.

- Curator's comments
- This cloth has a provenance from 'Verschure'. This is most likely to be the Belgian collector H.W. Verschure (1899-1977), Heer-Sur-Meuse. His collection is said to have come from that of Captain F.Vandevelde, which was formed before 1891. If this is correct, this cloth is the earliest example of a Dida cloth in the BM.
