- Bill Hart states "I'm pretty sure this is the quiver of a 'Bamboura chief' given to the BM by H.C.Rothery in April 1845. There is a very similar quiver in the Musee du quai Branly that is attributed to the Bamana of Mali (i.e. Bambara as they used to be called). From the central Sahel, therefore, rather than from the immediate hinterland of Sierra Leone."
