Adire: two lengths of a single width of imported European white calico cotton cloth, sewn together, and dyed in Nigeria using a stencil and starch resist to create a repeat pattern of very small crosses in rows across the cloth. W.B.Fagg recorded that the pattern was known as 'Sekere'.
