Adire: a single panel of imported European white calico cotton, dyed in indigo in Nigeria using stitch resist and tie dye methods. The central pattern is in stitch-resist using raffia, and has broad lines obliquely across the cloth; the ends have small tie-dyed circles. The pattern name was recorded by W.B.Fagg as Ọlọwọ odi (='left hand').

- Part of a collection of adire cloth made in Nigeria by W.B.Fagg in 1953 (Af1953,17.1 to 25). See comment on Af1953,17.1. He recorded the pattern name, the place of purchase and the price that he had paid (though in this case no price was recorded).
