- Af1946,21.1 to 64 were purchased from Miss B E Smythe; all the items come from West/Central Africa, mostly Nigeria but with some from Gabon and Ghana. She seems to have inherited the collection without any documentation, and it may well date from before WWI. The attributions of provenance were made by W B Fagg (Dept of Ethnography).
